mine is rush.
they have been one of my favorite bands ever since i can remember.. they totally rule........the music and lyrics are all top notch.. the other one is the tea party - jeff martin is a genius.

i became interested in jws about a year ago due to the favorable and believable answers to several questions that i had.
however there were a couple of others that were never clearly answered and i have since discovered a noticable reluctance on the part of wt elders to discuss.
perhaps there is someone out there that can set me straight on the official position of the organization on this particular point.. question: is it officially true that to have a chance at eternal life here on paradise earth one must be a (1) baptized and (2) official member of a congregation of the jehova's witnesses and that no others outside the jws can hope to attain salvation.. this seems to be the predominate assumption in most of the teachings i have so far encountered.

Funny. I asked my parents the same thing about 75 since they "survived" the nonsense of that year. They vehemently deny the society ever saying 1975 was ever taught from the stage. Maybe they weren't paying attention that year.

my wife mentioned our circuit assembly was this weekend, she looked at me and i let out a chuckle and said "the kids are too sick right?

it got us thinking about how they were kind of tolerable when we were younger.. meals with ice cream, lots of volunteering to get you out of your seat.. there was more room at past assemblies.
My dad was responsible for sauces and gravies at the CA. I'd go back and "help" when I was too much of a handful for my mom in the auditorium. So me and a buddy would raid the stockroom and pig out. Handfuls of bacon bits were a common occurrence. So was powdered cocoa. Then I discovered girls and didn't want to do anything that might hinder me cruising around and scoping for legs. I will say that being a JW was great for a leg guy like me.
firstly, i'm a study who initially believed every word of the jw's.
figured "no other religion takes the time and effort to help people understand the bible by publishing the watchtower and the other literature" not realizing that all it does is pick and choose scriptures to suit whatever sentence they'd just written, which can be done using any book, not just the bible.
i felt foolish, after that.. .
